Therefore, we are looking for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer with a good know-how and innovative mindset that can help FLSmidth to take them from idea to action.

As a Cloud data engineer, you will team up with 10 colleagues in a global Data Engineering team. We are looking for a very experienced profile who will take a natural interest in helping and coaching team members and help them grow their skills, sharing your experience and feedback.

You will in close collaboration with your teammates be responsible for developing FLSmidth’s corporate data platform on Snowflake and enable easy access to both structured and unstructured data from multiple sources. You will be building data pipelines, data integration and ingestion as well as data preparation and modelling. You will be driving self-service initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of data services supporting FLSmidth globally and their customers.

The team is part of the Architecture, Data & Analytics department which is an integral part of FLSmidth’s Digital and Operational Excellence function. The team is working dedicated to enable that business information becomes easily available in a well-defined and sufficient quality. The team is committed to democratizing the data and building the data infrastructure to support FLSmidth with insight, and analysis for the decision-making processes and to leverage enhanced productivity and sustainability through BI and Advanced Analytics.

Your responsibilities
  • Build, operate and maintain cloud-based data and analytics products and services
  • Design, build and maintain operational data stores, warehouses, or marts
  • Integrate multiple data sources into a consolidated platform
  • Interact with Product Owners and stakeholders to clarify requirements/needs
  • Collaborate with other engineers and properly document your design and solutions

What you bring
  • Proven experience from a similar role on senior level, where you have gained extended experience building data platforms on cloud for reporting and analytics
  • You feel natural navigating in Agile or DevOps communities of engineering practice
  • As a person you are outspoken with a can-do attitude
  • You are a dependable and knowledge-sharing team-player that cooperates well at all organizational levels
  • Excellent track record of using language such as SQL and/or Pytho
  • Experience in shaping the ELT/ETL framework for data warehouse development on Snowflake data platform
  • Experience in creating application build and release pipelines
  • Exposure to Data Warehouse modeling techniques such as Kimball star schemas, and Data Vault 2.
  • Experience with data engineering tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure function, Logic App, Databricks (General Spark), snowflake etc.
  • Fluent in English which is corporate language.
