 The LEGO Group is looking for a Lead Engineer to work from the Copenhagen office and to take part in our Digital transformation within Supply & Demand Technology.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership across product teams to secure delivery of exceptional technical solutions using coaching and mentoring
  • Technical sparring partner for Software Engineers within several product team
  • Formulates the technical roadmap and technology solution design in collaboration with the Principal Engineer
  • Support the journey towards the API-led integration of all applications
  • Embrace and evangelize great engineering practices to promote software engineering as a craftmanship
  • Support and guide design and decision process of new software solutions with product teams
  • Explore emerging technologies and methods, identifying opportunities for platforms
  • Participating in development of new prototypes and key components in the product teams
  • Sparring with engineering managers regarding team/people skillset and opportunities for growth, improvement, and training
  • Putting engineering and architecture topics on product roadmaps by actively engaging with product managers

The Supply & Demand Technology team builds and innovates global digital solutions for the entire supply chain in the LEGO Group, which are vital to delivering great play experiences.

We handle massive and fast-changing amounts of data, and our products are the foundation for planning the supply, production, and distribution of LEGO® products globally.

Our solutions essentially impact all our factories as well as our entire supply chain.

Being able to handle frequent changes in planning and master data is complex and requires smart and robust solutions to ensure an optimal flow in the factories and distribution. We focus on quality, speed, skilled and motivated people and modern software development practices to accomplish this.

We apply a range of modern cloud technologies every day, and value innovation and great ideas.

Do you have what it takes?
The ideal Lead Engineer has a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar). A minimum of 5 years’ experience working directly with senior IT groups in an advisory role. And extensive experience with software development and infrastructure architecture in designing and architecting enterprise applications:


  • Experience in modern technology stacks and architectural patterns like event driven architectures
  • Deep technical expertise within Cloud development, microservices, integrations/API development, CI/CD
  • Understanding Domain Driven Design and loosely coupled components
  • Have demonstrated ability to create robust, scalable, elegant, flexible, and relevant software solutions
  • Practical experience in Agile development methods and continuous delivery environment

In addition, you have:
  • Experience in Typescript and GoLang or another related programming language
  • Experienced with CI/CD pipelines and git-based source control
  • Experience with AWS or Azure implementations

You communicate effortlessly in advanced technical English, both written and verbally and your communication style is effective with the ability to get people involved on complex technical decisions.
